My motivation is to present the biblical character in an ethnic fashion, as opposed to the traditional Western version. My David captures the pride and strength of the young king according to biblical accounts. His appealing features only add to his popularity as a king. His eyes speak of his singleness of focus and purpose that is indicative of his confidence in his purpose to rule God’s people."
